The United States poured it on early by taking a 9-0 lead before the Canadians had even swung a bat.
Though Canada kept the score at 12-1 from the second inning onward, that was enough for the United States to secure to the win.
Canada is back at it on Tuesday against Colombia at 3 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
More to come.
