Jr NTR and Ram Charan wear Indian looks to Oscars 2023: Here’s what they said on the red carpet – Times of India

Tollywood stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan turned up at the Oscars red carpet in Indian wear, like Hyderabad Times had already reported.
Just like we had revealed on Sunday, Jr NTR opted for a dark outfit with a tiger motif while Ram Charan’s bandhgala paid homage to the freedom fighters of the past. Jr NTR took to social media ahead of his red carpet walk to share pictures of his look. With surma in his eyes, and an embroidered tiger on his shoulder, the actor looked fierce. As for Ram Charan, the detailing lie not just on the badge on his chest but also in the buttons. The latter was accompanied by Upasana Konidela, who opted for a cream saree paired with a necklace consisting of 400 rubies.

On the red carpet, Ram Charan spoke to the press and said, “She (Upasana) is pregnant as well. Six months and the baby is bringing us so much luck, from the Golden Globes to standing with you right here.” He also said, “I don’t know; it doesn’t feel like it’s my song, it’s our song, anymore, it’s the people’s people’s song. Different cultures and different age groups have owned this, and they are doing a much better job than what we did, I think, and they are taking this forward, and they brought it Oscars.”
Jr NTR reiterated that he’s there not just as an actor from RRR but an Indian. “Tiger is the national animal of India. I brought that along with me when I wore this outfit,” he said, adding, “I’m sure Naatu Naatu will win the Oscars. SS Rajamouli is a global phenomenon.” Talking about his journey, he revealed, “This movie brought me to the Oscars, this movie changed my life. I begin shooting for my next film soon, from March 29. It’s with a director called Shiva (Koratala), he’s a very close friend of mine.”

Naatu Naatu from RRR has been nominated in the Best Original Song category.
