This is the first Android smartphone to come with iPhone’s Dynamic Island – Times of India
Android OEMs usually pick some new features or design changes Apple makes to the iPhone. However, Dynamic Island which made its debut with iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is still nowhere to be seen on the Android ecosystem. Things have changed now as Realme has launched Android’s first smartphone to feature a Dynamic Island replica called “Mini Capsule”.
Realme has launched the Realme C55 smartphone in Indonesia and it comes with its own version of software-based hiding notch implementation. The major difference here is that the phone does not come with Apple’s pill-shaped front camera setup. Instead, the new Mini Capsule is built around the centrally-placed circular front camera punch-hole. Also, according to the images posted on Realme C55’s official webpage on the company’s Indonesian website, the animation or the Mini Capsule extends almost to the edge of the screen.
Realme has explained the Mini Capsule on the website, “Get important information more seamlessly than ever before, such as phone charge status, low battery warning, data usages and steps and walking distance of the day”.
This means the Mini Capsule is capable of offering the information like charging status, battery details and more. In fact, the image posted on the website also has the Super VOOC logo on it.
However, it is still an early phase and Android apps and services are still not optimised or programmed to deliver information in a ‘Dynamic Island’ style. So, we will have to see how Realme has exactly implemented the Mini Capsule on their phone.
Realme C55: Specifications
