Pathaan box office collection: Shah Rukh Khan’s film doubles up on its fifth Saturday – Times of India
Pathaan collected about Rs 2 crore nett on Day 32, reports Box Office India. Collections from national chains grew by 115%, while outside it was 80-100% growth, the report further stated. The film has not had any tough competitor in the form of new releases and thus it will enjoy an extended run.
Pathaan is running behind KGF 2 by just around 25 lakh at the moment. It is expected to close around Rs 510-515 crore nett.
Speaking to ETimes about the success of Pathaan despite the backlash that it faced on social media, director Siddharth Anand had said, ‘The fact that the audiences came in such huge numbers means they knew that there was nothing to what these calls were trying to say. So it was not that they waited and came in the evening to hear about it, like ‘Oh, my god, is this what they’re saying? Is it true what they are trying to say?’ The results came in through advance numbers itself. So I think the audience is too smart. I think we just underestimate the audience’s intelligence. They see through any agenda now.”
