‘Shehzada’ versus ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania’ box office collection day 1: Kartik Aaryan starrer earns only Rs 6 crore, ‘Ant-man 3’ triumphs with Rs 8.50 crore – Times of India

Looks like the charm of Kartik Aaryan has failed to fetch the audience to theatres. His latest offering ‘Shehzada’ as found few takers on first day.
Despite the offer of ‘buy one get one’ free ticket for Friday, ‘Shehzada’ has scored low. The film earned around Rs 5.75- 6 crore nett on its opening day, reports boxofficeindia. This is more than 50 percent less than what Kartik’s last release ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ had earned. ‘Shehzada’ has perform poorly in most circuits including Gujarat / Saurashtra and CI as well as East. Despite Mahashivratri holiday on Saturday, it doesn’t look like the film will show huge growth, mainly because of its low performance on day one. Hollywood biggie ‘Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantamania’ also released on Friday and is giving some tough competition to Kartik Aaryan’s film. ‘Ant-Man 3’ has earned Rs 8.50 crore nett on the opening day.

Speaking about his upcoming films, Kartik had told ETimes, “Maybe, next is serious! Or next is a serious love story. I’m playing safe. I didn’t imagine it to be like this. I mean, there was a thought behind choosing such films. But there was not a thought that this film will come after this or this film will come after this. It became like that on its own. But there was this choice of scripts which thankfully was coming to me, and it was a conscious decision to do such films. A mix of a romantic thriller like Freddy, a dark thriller, and then suddenly switching gears to a film as massy as Shehzada.”
