Canucks place goaltender Spencer Martin on waivers

The Vancouver Canucks have placed goaltender Spencer Martin on waivers for the purpose of assignment to AHL Abbotsford, the team announced Monday.

Originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2013 NHL draft, Martin has started 27 games for the Canucks this season and has an 11-15-1 record.

Martin, 27, has a 3.99 goals against average and a .871 save percentage in 2022-23.

The native of Oakville, Ont. has lost his last 10 appearances while giving up at least three goals in each of those games.

Thatcher Demko is still working on his return from a lower-body injury, but did travel with the team last week during its four-game road trip. Demko last played Dec. 1 against the Florida Panthers.
