PSG ‘plan to SELL Neymar this summer’
It has been reported that Paris Saint-Germain are looking to offload Neymar this summer.
Neymar has enjoyed an impressive season for the French giants but was culpable in the team’s comprehensive defeat at Monaco over the weekend which reportedly led to a number of bust-ups, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, while his form post-World Cup has nose-dived.
It has been reported by Spanish publication AS that PSG will seek a buyer for the Brazilian this summer as they look to cut ties with the player they signed to such fanfare five and a half years ago for a club and world record fee of £196m.
The report states that Neymar’s role in the loss and his attitude towards team-mates and sporting director Luis Campos has contributed to his downfall at the club.

Reports also suggested Neymar publicly expressed displeasure with Hugo Ekitike, with it said that some Monaco players barely believed what they were hearing from the supposed senior player.
He then reportedly directed his anger at Campos in the dressing room after the defeat.
Campos watched the PSG players be put through their final paces at the club’s training base on Monday morning alongside club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
The report states that the Ligue 1 leaders are going through a crisis within their dressing room at present, appearing to pin at least a proportion of that blame on the shoulders of Neymar.

Neymar has endured a difficult relationship with the club’s ultras since he tried to return to Barcelona just two years into his PSG stay. The sight of banners protesting against Neymar as well boos and whistles when he is on the ball are regularly seen and heard at the Parc des Prince.
It has contributed to the feeling that the relationship has never been a truly happy one between Neymar and the club, leading to such reports.
PSG have lost four games so far this year alone, including at Lens and Rennes in the league and away at rivals Olympique Marseille in the Coupe de France.

While the report acknowledges Neymar’s impressive season in regards to the goals and assist numbers he has posted, it states that his form has not been the same post-World Cup.
Indeed, since returning from what transpired to be another disappointing World Cup campaign for Brazil, Neymar has only recorded one goal and one assist in the league.
The Spanish publication, however, note the difficulty PSG might have in offloading the superstar. Neymar is said to earn northwards of £40m per annum.

Last year’s defeat at the hands of Real Madrid, when they led by two goals at half-time in the second leg of the tie, has come to embody their recent seasons in the competition – 2019-20 notwithstanding, when they lost to Bayern Munich in the final.
Manager Christophe Galtier, who has found himself under increasing pressure amid questions over his tactics, reported bust ups players and a string of poor results, has called on his players to react against Bayern Munich, calling the start against Monaco ‘catastrophic’.
‘I am furious because the start is catastrophic,’ he told Amazon Prime Video. ‘We had hope with the goal and we concede a third on a transition. Going back to 3-1 is more complicated.
‘There is anger. There were absentees, a virus. It’s a difficult time for everyone, the players and the fans.
‘We have a big meeting on Tuesday [against Bayern Munich] and we need to regain energy, confidence and available players.’
