Streaker takes WM Phoenix Open party onto 16th green (Video)

The WM Phoenix Open, but the 16th hole in particular, is an absolute party in Scottsdale. And one Speedo-clad streaker took the party onto the green.

A streaker in golf is not something that you see just about ever, especially on the often relatively buttoned-up PGA Tour. If there was ever a place it was going to happen, though, everyone’s first guess would be TPC Scottsdale for the WM Phoenix Open — specifically the raucous 16th hole with the stadium setup.

So on Friday with the crowds showing up in droves to the biggest party that golf has to offer, one brave fan donned his best shiny Speedo and made it happen.

While the group of Stewart Cink, J.B. Holmes and Matt Kuchar was waiting to tee off and try to win the crowd over with a great shot — though Cink tried on Thursday by wearing a Kevin Durant Suns jersey already — the streaker ran out of the stands wearing nothing but his Speedo and rocking a sweet mullet.

WM Phoenix Open gets an elusive Speedo-wearing streaker on 16th hole

Not that any fan should be encouraged to do this but, IF you are deadset on doing so, you better make sure to get your money’s worth. Running onto the iconic 16th green in front of a huge crowd, riding the bull with the flagstick and then evading security for a bit feels like it accomplishes definitely that.

The WM Phoenix Open has long been a singular event on the PGA Tour with the party-like environment that not only surfaces but has been encouraged as well. And now, with it being an elevated event starting this season (and perhaps beyond), the best players in the world are in the field to experience the golf tournament, no offense to The Masters, truly unlike any other.

If that means we have to deal with a streaker every now and then, so be it. At least make sure they have a mullet and Speedo though. Otherwise, what’s the point?
