NBA best bets today (Predictions for LeBron James, Nuggets-Pelicans on Tuesday)
It was a rough start to the week on Monday with a dreaded reverse sweep in our NBA best bets, but I’m hoping we can turn things around on Tuesday night with the five-game slate.
LeBron James could return for the Los Angeles Lakers against the New York Knicks, and I have an under the radar prop pick for him, as well as my favorite side to take tonight.
Let’s turn things around on Tuesday:
NBA best bets record to date
NBA best bets today
- Denver Nuggets -6.5 (-110) vs. New Orleans Pelicans
- LeBron James OVER 14.5 Rebounds and Assists (-105)
Denver Nuggets -6.5 (-110) vs. New Orleans Pelicans
The Denver Nuggets are one of the best home teams in the NBA, going 22-4 straight up and 13-10-1 ATS as home favorites, winning those games by over 10 points per game.
It’s been a rough stretch for the New Orleans Pelicans, losing eight straight games and ranking dead last in the NBA in offensive rating over their last 10 games.
I’ve broken this down in previous columns, but the Nuggets are No. 6 in the NBA in defensive rating at home and No. 2 in offensive rating. Meanwhile, the Pelicans are just 18th in the NBA in offensive rating on the road, going 9-16 straight up in those games.
Even if Jamal Murray (questionable) misses this game, I love Denver to win going away at Ball Arena.
LeBron James OVER 14.5 Rebounds and Assists (-105)
LeBron is averaging 8.5 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game this season, and he’s cleared 14.5 rebounds and assists in 10 straight games.
I don’t get why this line is set so low when the Lakers play at such a fast pace, especially against a New York Knicks team that is bottom-5 in the league in defensive rating over its last 10 matchups.
While LeBron is chasing the scoring record, he also has another milestone to achieve, moving into the top-5 in career assists.
With Anthony Davis (probable) expected to play in this game as well, I think James is a great bet for assists and rebounds when everyone is going to be hammering his points prop.
Bonus: New York Knicks-Los Angeles Lakers same-game parlay (+130)
LeBron James 35+ Points, Rebounds and Assists
Julius Randle OVER 9.5 Rebounds
Immanuel Quickley 15+ Points, Rebounds and Assists
Jalen Brunson 1+ 3-Pointers.
I don’t love giving out parlays in the column, but this is a fun one you can sprinkle on in the Knicks-Lakers matchup.
James has picked up 35+ PRA in 22 consecutive games, and we’re already backing his assists and boards prop tonight.
Randle has been elite on the glass for the Knicks, picking up double-digit boards in 15 of his last 17 games, finishing with nine on the dot in the two games he went UNDER.
I’ve been loving Immanuel Quickley’s PRA prop as of late, as he’s put up 19+ in 14 of his last 16 games, but the books moved it to 20.5 on Tuesday. So, we’ll lower this to 15+ plus for the sake of the parlay.
Lastly, Jalen Brunson has been money from beyond the arc (39.8 percent this season), hitting a 3-pointer in 15 of his last 16 games.
This could be something fun to sprinkle on in primetime.
