According to a post on an online community, Jin’s team won the first place at a talent show that celebrated Seollal. As a reward, the singer and his team got an extra day of vacation as a reward.
Allkpop also reported that it was Jin who personally taught his crew the choreography that won them the competition.

Since enlisting in December, Jin has officially completed his 5 weeks of basic training at the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center and attended his completion ceremony on January 18th. The eldest member of the K-Pop band, BTS took up his mandatory military service in compliance with South Korean law.
Early this month, the vocalist treated his fans with the first official glimpses of himself after joining the military service. The BTS member has been keeping fans upto date about his progress with timely posts on Weverse. Jin wrote, “I’m enjoying my life. I’m posting pictures after getting permission from the military. ARMY, be happy and take care.”
Prior to leaving for his military service, Kim Seokjin filmed a video that instantly went viral. “I won’t be a civilian anymore by the time this is out but I’m here in front of the camera because I wanted to leave you something even if it’s just leaving a message,” he was heard saying in the video.
“So I am here with the camera on today. Currently, I’m shooting for ‘Running Man’ and whenever I’m available I wish to leave these videos and records once every few months to share with you as much as possible, even if it’s just checking in briefly,” he continued.
“I may not be by your side at this very moment but I’ll go looking for you soon so if you just wait a little bit. I’ll be back soon. That’s all for today. Next time, when I have the chance I’ll be back with another video. See you then!” he added.
On December 13, 2022, Jin formally reported for duty. A front-line army division’s boot camp in Yeoncheon, 60 kilometres north of Seoul, is where Jin has reportedly been receiving training, according to multiple sources.
BigHit Music, the management agency of South Korean music group BTS, on Thursday appealed to fans not to send member Jin gifts and letters as he fulfils his mandatory military service. The 30-year-old vocalist, whose full name is Kim Seok-jin, officially enlisted for duty on December 13, 2022. According to Korean media, Jin is undergoing training at a boot camp of a front-line army division in Yeoncheon, 60 kilometres north of Seoul.
In a statement posted on fan community forum Weverse, BigHit said the influx of gifts at the training centre could lead to problems with storage and even misplacement.
“Jin is stationed at a training centre designated specifically for military training together with regular military personnel. If a large number of letters and gifts from the fans arrive at the centre all at once, it would be difficult to store them and they could be easily lost. We ask that you please refrain from sending anything by mail,” the agency said in the statement.
In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged 18-28 are required to serve in the military for about two years. All BTS members had been allowed to put off starting their military service until they turned 30.
Other members — RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.
The group, which debuted in 2013, had announced their hiatus in June 2022. They hope to reconvene as a unit around 2025 following their service commitment.
