BREAKING NEWS: Third baseman and 2006 World Series champion Scott Rolen is elected as the SOLE inductee of the 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame Class… to the surprise of fans – as Alex Rodriguez misses out again!
One-time World Series champion and ex-Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds third baseman Scott Rolen is the latest name to enter the National Baseball Hall of Fame after receiving 76.3 percent of votes on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old featured on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America’s Hall of Fame Ballot for the sixth consecutive year and will be inducted in Cooperstown, New York, on July 23rd, along with former slugger Fred McGriff, who was elected to the Hall of Fame by contemporary era commitee in December.
Coming next closest to being associated with some of baseball’s legendary players is Todd Helton – a former first baseman who played his entire 17-year career for the Colorado Rockies.
Scott Rolen, 47, has been elected as the only member of the 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame class
A total of 28 candidates appeared on this year’s ballot, including 14 new ones, which was decided this week by 400 voting members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
