Siddharth Anand reveals Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone learnt Jujutsu for brutal action sequences in ‘Pathaan’ – Times of India
In a rapid-fire video dropped by the production house, the director of the film is seen spilling some beans about the lead characters and what went behind making an action extravaganza. The filmmaker revealed that he loves stunts involving bikes but his favourite action sequence in the film is that one that happens atop a train. Siddharth added that the cast went through rigorous training forms of combat like biking on ice and riding on top of trains to perform the action-packed scenes with ease.
Elaborating further, he also revealed that Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone learnt jujutsu, a deadly Japanese martial arts form to pull off some brutal action sequences in the film. He also went on to say that SRK took three months to grow his hair to get the ‘Pathaan’ look and the prep work for the film took about two years and took place across different parts of the world.
Siddharth went on to state that it is Pathaan’s unpredictability that he loves the most and that Deepika’s character is even ‘more unpredictable’ and together, their chemistry is ‘electrifying’.
The film also stars John Abraham in the role of an antagonist and is slated to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023.
