Chiefs disrespect Raiders with hysterical play-call: Best memes and tweets
The Kansas City Chiefs showed the ultimate disrespect to the Las Vegas Raiders in the form of a ridiculous, yet funny, play-call in Week 18.
It may be the final week of the season, but the Kansas City Chiefs had something to play for. With a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the team would officially clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC and home field advantage in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Raiders are 6-10 on the year and are entering an offseason where they could have a huge change at the quarterback position.
If you wanted some proof that the Chiefs weren’t exactly afraid of the Raiders, one play late in the second quarter stands out. Before reaching the line of scrimmage, the Chiefs offense spun around “ring around the rosie” style, before directly snapping the ball to running back Jerick McKinnon, who then pitched it back to quarterback Patrick Mahomes and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
The play ultimately didn’t count, as center Creed Humphrey was called for holding.
Even so, this play-call caught by the Chiefs caught the attention of users on the internet, who then posted their best memes and tweets.
Twitter reacts to Chiefs trolling Raiders with hysterical play-call
Imagine being on the opposing side, watching the offense spin around in a circle before hiking the football? That had to be something to witness up close.
While the touchdown was called back, the Chiefs were able to get back on the scoreboard. On the following play, Toney took the handoff from Mahomes and ran for an 11-yard touchdown, extending Kansas City’s lead to 21-3.
Chiefs fans are probably wondering when the team will use this kind of huddle again. As for Raiders fans, they probably never want to see this move used against them ever again.
