5 bold predictions for Broncos against Browns
The Denver Broncos look to end their three-game losing streak on Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns
The Denver Broncos‘ 3-0 start is a thing of the past, as they traded in that winning streak for a three-game losing streak. That came to life this past Sunday, when they lost to the rival Las Vegas Raiders 34-24. Even though the score appeared close, that was not the case, as the Raiders held as huge as a 31-10 lead in the third quarter.
Still reeling from the loss, the Broncos will now have to prepare on short notice, as they take on the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football. While this looks to be a tough matchup for Denver on paper, the Browns are dealing with a litany of injuries. Just look at their lengthy injury report featuring prominent names. So, all hope is not lost for the Broncos.
Here are five bold predictions for the Broncos against the Browns on Thursday night.
Denver stops the run against the Browns
The Browns once had an ultimate strength on the offensive side of the ball –their running game. Cleveland’s duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt were explosive since last season, but both will inactive for Thursday night.
After recording 161 rushing yards and one touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5, Chubb was not active for their game against the Arizona Cardinals due to a calf injury. Hunt, who took over the starting duties against Arizona, left the game after injuring his calf as well. Now, Hunt is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks.
With that, the Browns will rely on D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton to carry the load. Even though the Broncos did surrender 89 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Josh Jacobs last week, they should be able to shut down Cleveland’s running attack.
