3 Cardinals who won’t be on the roster by May 1
Who will be cut from the St. Louis Cardinals’ roster once the size gets reduced on May 1?
Due to the MLB lockout and a shortened Spring Training, the league allowed teams to increase the size of their rosters to 28. After May 1, it will be reduced to a 26-man roster. Who will not make the cut to stay with the St. Louis Cardinals?
The Cardinals went into the season with 15 pitchers and 13 position players. While the Cardinals are big on having plenty of pitching, the cuts will most likely come from the bullpen.
But, a position player could be moved from the major league roster to get some playing time in the minor leagues to get fresh.

3. Aaron Brooks, P
Brooks pitched for the first time Sunday for the Cardinals after having not pitched since 2019. He threw two innings, giving up two hits and two earned runs. He was also able to strike out two batters.
Brooks could use some time at the minor league level to work on things. The Cardinals will likely have him use the time to get back in the swing of pitching again and go from there. The team could use the time to get him stretched out to pitch more innings.
