2nd Test: ‘Unlucky’ Virat Kohli falls to a ‘doubtful dismissal’ | Cricket News – Times of India
Kohli looked assured at the crease for his 44 runs and was looking to take India out of trouble when disaster struck in the 50th over of the Indian innings with the hosts 5 wickets down.
The arm ball from Kuhnemann came in and and just squeezed past the bat as Kohli tried to defend, but was struck on the bat and pad almost simultaneously. The Aussies appealed and Indian umpire Nitin Menon raised his finger.
Kohli reviewed it straight away and also signalled to his batting partner at the other end KS Bharat that it was sliding down the leg side, doubting there’s any bat there.
In the replays, UltraEdge showed there was a spike as the ball was sandwiched between bat and pad.
Kohli seemed to have edged it, and also the wickets were only marginally hitting as per Hawk Eye.
Aussies rejoiced because umpire’s call is what is final.
Former cricketers and experts thought there was bat first. Here are some reactions:
That wasn’t out to me. Too much doubt in there. #INDvAUS #ViratKohli https://t.co/wrYGg1e1nT

Virat Kohli was clearly unhappy watching his wicket’s replay in the dressing room. https://t.co/ly4kWbwawY

Nitin Menon is officially the worst umpire in world cricket. It was not at all Virat Kohli’s fault today. https://t.co/hWPgwwUU6N
