Frequently listed among the best haunted attractions in the US, The 13th Gate offers a ghoulishly great time with their ultra-realistic walkthroughs across their 40,000-square-foot property, which has included meticulously detailed pirate ships, the streets of Whitechapel, underground tunnels, and a zombie-infested graveyard. While Louisiana has a rich history of true haunted locations, you can’t get closer to the real thing without risking being cursed than The 13th Gate. With in-game actors, movie-quality sets and props, and a wonderful utilization of lore from the Saw and Blair Witch franchises, this pair of immersive escape rooms (which are open all-year-round) will make for a magnificently macabre memory for those tired of watching their wallets bleed out on the Las Vegas Strip. Having attended these events last year, I can personally attest to the impressive nature of the games (though Blair Witch is absolutely the easier of the two), and any die-hard fans of either Saw or The Blair Witch Project should add these experiences to their bucket list.
